The only way to unlock it in case you have forgotten or mistyped the password is to contact the manufacturer. It is a very stable program, used for many years and you don't think that it does what it wants, it does what you tell it to do and that's it. It can be installed and as long as it is not activated, it can stand as a loyal and unbeatable guardian at the gates of the operating system.
It has infinitely more possibilities of expression and editing than the classic Notepad in the operating system.
It is widely used for writing and editing in assembly language, for microcontrollers. Assemblers like asm51 (Win32 platform), C51ASM Microchip (Win64), accept and work very well with Notepad++. Those who deal with programming microcontrollers from the 8051 family had a problem, which gave a lot of headaches; to transfer technology from Win32 platforms to Win64, respectively from old computers to new ones.
If on the Win32 platform, we were favored by the existence of ASM51 from MetaLink Corporation Chandler Arizona, so many years and completely free, for very well-founded reasons, with the appearance of new generations of computers on Win64, things are no longer so simple. ASM51 does not run on the new platforms, despite all the attempts that have been made. It was taken over but does not run independently. Most of the already trained programmers work in assembly language, which is easier to learn and assimilate and which gives the programmer "full control" over microC (the microcontroller), which compilers in C and C++ do not offer.
Something recognized by the technical community. Or if you want, to have "full control" in the programming process over microC, you have to have "full control" in C and C++ programming, something obtained in the qualified opinion of Apple, after 20 years of programming. But maybe it doesn't take that long. That's where the headache comes from, with the compilation programs that appeared with the Win64 platform. The vast majority of programs on the market are compilers that also have the assembler built in, but "adapted".
To find a compatible, feasible and acceptable solution, after experimenting with Bascom and Keil, I found Raisonance, part of the IoTize SAS group. They unexpectedly offer the technical community Ride7 and RKit-51, free.
Ride7 is an IDE similar to Visual Studio and RKit-51 provides only the information part about the 8051 family. It is a programming environment only in native assembly language, at the level of the most powerful and expensive compilers. Follow the instructions for registration, downloading and registration exactly. Ignore the information notes about obsolete and some older versions. Download the latest versions of Ride7 and RKit-51, register and activate them. You will receive an Enterprise license. The assembler works with the entire 8051 family without limitations up to 89S8252 and is very good for beginners, intermediate level, and data control. Follow the MA-51 manual, which is a bit more advanced, but it's good to have the ASM51 documentation with you. Don't be scared of errors when compiling for the first time on this IDE because you'll easily guess why it gives them, as I said before it's a bit more advanced.
For professionals versed and not only in programming microcontrollers in the 8051 range, Macro Assembler C51ASM offered by Microchip is an even better alternative.
The chip portfolio is much larger, including AT89S8253 and is a normalization of assembly programming activity in this range. It is free.
It can be installed and run independently, without AT89LP Developer Studio.
Follow the installation documentation carefully and without rushing, to understand each step well.
